Amentum Logistics Supervisor - General Supply in Alice Springs, Australia

The Logistics Supervisor for the General Supply Warehouse will perform efficient and effective in leading a team of Logistics Specialists in supply, stock control and distribution services to personnel and general supply warehouse, including Housing Leasing Services (HLS) warehouse.

The Logistics Supervisor will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders, employees and vendors on daily basis through the course of their duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the General Supply Warehouse including the manning and operations of the HLS warehouse

  • Lead logistics element analyses and studies, creating sparing plans, shipping, and receiving procedures, work breakdown structures and warehouse layouts.

  • Develop technical papers, specifications, procedures, and ad-hoc reports.

  • Manage a diverse group of personnel assigning and coordinating daily tasks of the general warehouse team, including all payroll responsibilities, personnel development and performance management

  • Manage the Packaging, palletizing and consignment of inventory for dispatch, utilizing various modes of transport (road, air etc.)

  • Prepare documentation for consignment and receipt of goods via Air Mobility Command (AMC) flights

  • Perform a range of inventory related transactions within CMMS SAP

  • Provide a customer facing service desk for processing and hand over of all material orders

  • Report observed discrepancies in stock levels, transactions and serial numbers

  • Conduct excess and/or unserviceable goods reporting and control

  • Author, manage, maintain, and update the applicable polices, support documents and work instructions for those activities associated with the warehousing requirements. Collaborate, provide feedback and updates to the Logistics Manager to ensure all processes are correctly documented and maintained.

  • Manage the programs of stock analysis and inventory review as required, including the determination of reorder levels

  • Ensure that all personnel correctly handle and store hazardous materials and provide timely notification of any observed incidents relating to hazardous materials

  • Manage completion of warehouse inventory stock takes, documenting and certifying results and reconciling discrepancies

  • Foster a strong culture around safety including the reporting of hazards and incidents, pe-starts and safe operating procedures are followed

  • Any other reasonable duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer software and application knowledge

  • Working with minimal supervision and experience working as part of a dedicated team

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

  • Administrative skills

  • Vocational training and qualifications in Logistics related fields

  • Materials handling training

  • Inventory Analysis – Demand planning and revision of stock levels

TICKETS AND LICENCES

Minimum Essential

  • Drivers License

  • Forklift License

  • MR truck license or the ability to obtain if required

  • Dangerous goods person license

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 2 years’ logistics experience

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders

  • Experience with MS Officer operating system

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

  • Australian or US citizen
