Amentum Electrician in Baghdad, Iraq
OCONUS - The LCC Electrician is based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and serves the Light Construction Crew under the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position is responsible for electrical construction, remodeling, or renovation projects under the purview of the LCC Project Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
The LCC Electrician:
Maintains a safe workplace, fosters a safety culture aligned with all Environmental, Health, & Safety policies, and ensures safety is the highest value in the workplace.
Performs electrical work in accordance with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace, to include Lockout Tagout procedures and Energized Electrical Work permitting.
Installs, inspects, replaces, and repairs a variety of electrical systems, equipment, and components: generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, etc.
Designs circuits and selects equipment using National Electrical Code calculations.
Interprets, reviews, and uses blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
Performs electrical Technical Inspection of facilities and electrical distribution systems, identifies hazards, and reports findings to management.
Collects data necessary to make informed technical decisions based on standards for electrical safety and applicable electrical codes.
Performs testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics using a variety of equipment such as electrical Multi-meters, Fluke 1653B Installation Test Meters, Underground Line Locators, and other instruments.
Reports to and receives direction from the LCC Supervisor.
Plans, organizes, and executes assignments, reports, and documentation.
Assumes facility custodianship of work area.
Possesses knowledge of principles and processes involved in operating and supporting electrical functions at an overseas facility.
Possesses knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
Performs additional duties and projects as assigned, including working across Trades when Electrical work is not scheduled.
REQUIRED:
Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
Must have (10) ten years of experience as an Electrician licensed or certified for NFPA 70 NEC, with at least (5) five years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
Must have (3) three years in OCONUS environment.
Must have (2) two years performing electrical technical inspections for code compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledgeable in both low voltage (≤1000 Volts) and medium voltage (≤15 kilovolts) electrical installations, alterations, troubleshooting, and analysis.
Knowledgeable in electrical design concepts and calculations.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E work practices.
Skills to analyze electrical code nonconformance and assess the associated electrical hazards and risk.
Skills to develop labor and material estimates for electrical construction projects.
Ability to research both National Electrical Code and British Standard Regulations to apply the appropriate governing electrical standard for the electrical supply.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demanding multi-tasking and rapid adaptation to changing priorities and schedules.
Education:
A High School Diploma or GED.
Formal Electrical Apprentice Program culminating with a Journeyman License or Certification approved by any State in the United States.
Passport, Licenses and Certifications:
As part of pre-contingency requirements, by the time the visa process starts , candidates must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
Journeyman Electrician License or Certification issued through the candidate’s Home of Record State.
Valid driver’s license from Home of Record.
Security Vetting:
Already possess a US Government issued Secret security clearance or be granted US Government Secret clearance prior to being hired. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
Language Skills:
Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
Medical:
Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
