Amentum Engineering Technician - ILN/CANES in Groton, Connecticut
Join Amentum, a leader in excellence, as an Engineering Technician specializing in Information Level Network (ILN)/Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) . We are on the lookout for a dedicated professional to join our team in Groton, CT , and play a pivotal role in maintaining the technological superiority of our naval capabilities.
Your Role:
Conduct in-depth technical evaluations and implement necessary corrective measures for ILN/CANES systems, adhering to the highest standards of the Department of Defense, Navy Maintenance Procedures, and Cyber System directives.
Play a crucial part in the assembly, installation, and testing of submarine Local Area Networks, ensuring operational readiness and security.
Engage in a broad spectrum of engineering tasks, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of ILN/CANES systems, guided by precise engineering specifications.
What You’ll Accomplish:
Validate and verify the performance of ILN/CANES systems, ensuring they meet rigorous testing standards.
Facilitate Engineering Change Instructions, contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems.
Create and refine technical documentation for Maintenance Systems, manuals, troubleshooting guides, and procedural updates, enhancing system reliability and efficiency.
Provide expert systems engineering support, offering solutions and improvements to complex challenges.
Act as the primary on-site liaison for system installations, testing, and engineering tasks, delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Uphold the integrity of engineering documentation, plans, and specifications, and evaluate the impact of equipment changes with a keen eye for detail.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
Five (5) years of practical experience and High School diploma/GED OR Three (3) years practical experience and an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.
Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
US Military systems/network experience
Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent
