Amentum is on the lookout for a Senior Engineering Technician with a specialty in the Integrated Submarine Imaging System (ISIS) AN/BVY-1 . We invite you to bring your expertise and enthusiasm to our dedicated team in Groton, CT. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide critical onsite support, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cutting-edge ISIS technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Mastery : Install, monitor, and maintain sophisticated equipment and systems at both company and client locations.

  • Technical Leadership : Conduct comprehensive tests, evaluations, and certifications for AN/BVY-1 systems, ensuring operational excellence.

  • Innovation and Development : Validate and verify a variety of electronic systems, contributing to the advancement of the ISIS System and Photonics Mast Variants (PMV), including Mast Technical Insertion (MTI) and Low Profile Photonics Mast (LPPM).

  • Knowledge Creation : Generate and refine technical data for Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), technical manuals, and troubleshooting guides, while also updating drawings and operational procedures to enhance system maintainability.

  • Change Implementation : Execute Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) with precision and care.

  • Mentorship : Educate and train team members on system operations and performance, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.

  • Customer Engagement : Provide direct interface with clients during equipment/system installations, tests, surveys, and various engineering tasks, ensuring a seamless experience.

  • Quality Assurance : Uphold the highest standards of engineering documentation, plans, system specifications, and test procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance

  • Ten (10) years of practical experience and High School diploma/GED OR Six (6) years practical experience and an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.

  • Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and designing solutions to problems in operational hardware and software

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of ISIS maintenance course A-102-0388

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
