Amentum Accountant I in Las Vegas, Nevada

Performing Accounting services will minimal supervision, apply principles of accounting to ensure the proper and accurate distribution of cost. Follow established accounting practices. Position requires experience and emphasis on Reconciliations and Invoicing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and validate Customer Invoices.

  • Prepare account reconciliations for subcontractor accounting.

  • Collaborate with Program Management Office and Contracts Administration to resolve invoicing issues.

  • Prepare Project Specific Unbilled AR account reconciliations.

  • Entry of Project Account Set-up into Accounting System.

  • Provide internal and external reports as required.

  • Setup and maintain files within the existing financial software, as well as assist in the testing of financial upgrades.

  • Verify the proper distribution of charges to specific accounts and contracts.

  • Prepare journal entries as needed.

  • Interface, as needed, with Government, corporate and private auditors.

  • Apply learned knowledge of practices and procedures to deal with issues or research problems that require further definition before resolution.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's’ Degree in Accounting and at least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of academic/technical training and related work experience.

  • Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires the ability to qualify for and maintain a US Government TS security clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a US Government security clearance.

  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
