Amentum Submarine Forward Electronics System Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia

Are you looking for a position to continue supporting the world’s finest submarine fleet? Amentum is actively seeking a Submarine Forward Electronics System Analyst to join our Norfolk, VA team. This position will provide technical, logistical, and analytical support to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) supporting the Submarine Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Department, Code 275. The successful candidate will provide support to the Post-Deployment Maintainability Assessment (PDMA) and Submarine Continuous Operational and Maintenance Assessment (SubCOMA) team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Research, collect, and organize submarine maintenance data, from various DoD/DON online applications, including 2-Kilos, Casualty Reports, Fleet Technical Assistance Reports, Manning and Training documents, and Technical manuals

  • Consolidate data and multiple data sets into databases for use in various, future assessments. Develop algorithms (filters, queries, etc.) to enhance databases

  • Clean data and maintain databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency

  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks and reviews to ensure data integrity

  • Analyze and interpret maintenance data trends to identify critical insights into submarine maintainability issues

  • Transform and model maintenance data into charts and tables to depict key maintainability issues

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) including Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) and other submarine maintenance stakeholders to review and validate assessed maintenance data, determine maintainability challenges, and identify potential solutions

  • Generate maintainability reports that capture the findings from each assessment to support decision-making regarding submarine maintainability

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Review and assess MFOM Data, TAVRs, CASREPs, 2-Kilos, parts usage, and STAARS FTA/Maintenance data and provide waterfront input and technical support in the identification, analysis, root cause determination, failures, and/or trends and formulation of recommendations and actionable date in support of Fleet/TYCOM Squadron, Ships Force, RMCs and NAVSEA

  • Investigate and perform maintenance investigations/assessments, generate reports/point papers/briefs that include recommendations for problem resolution and/or product improvements in support of TMA and other Fleet/TYCOM activities/meetings

  • Conduct onboard assessments

  • Develop a formal Maintainability Report; The report will identify and document maintainability issues and provide actionable data to support data-driven recommendations/actions

  • Perform all other tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • General Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience in Navy program acquisition and lifecycle support

  • Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience in Submarine Forward Electronic Systems acquisition and lifecycle support.

  • Possess knowledge of:

  • DoD/Navy Systems and Programs acquisition

  • Navy systems requirements, standards, and procedures

  • Navy procurement and acquisition

  • Navy configuration management, data management, and program management

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)

  • Expertise with problem-solving techniques to identify actual or potential problem areas and/or trends that impact submarine maintainability

  • Proficiency with Data research, collection, organization, integration, analysis, and reporting

  • Competent mathematical and/or statistical skills

  • Familiarity with Data Analysis software products including TABLEAU, POWER BI, and Microsoft ACCESS

  • Experience with Programming languages like SQL
