Amentum Deputy Program Manager in Seattle, Washington

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support a contract based in the Seattle / Tacoma / Bremerton area.

The West Sound (WSBOS) Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will share responsibility with the Program Manager to be responsible for the operations and maintenance contract with the US Navy leading a diverse team of 200 high performing technicians and professionals to meet or exceed the contract requirements at Naval facilities in Kitsap Count, WA. This is a facilities support indefinite quantity with recurring work/ firm fixed price (FFP) and non-recurring work/indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) provisions contract. The DPM will work with the NAVFAC Northwest customer in a model of extreme partnering to meet the needs of the warfighter and deliver the mission of the US Navy.

The WSBOS Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for the execution and delivery of the contract including Safe Operations, Financial performance, technical performance, and overall performance. The DPM will be responsible for sustaining an outstanding customer relationship through effective communication. The DPM will facilitate team members professional development consistent with the needs to deliver outstanding contract performance. The DPM will be responsible for delivering Jacobs management, financial, work execution, environmental, and quality processes on the contract and identifying and deploying continuous improvements throughout the contract term. The DPM will maintain effective communication internally to Amentum to ensure the highest levels of contract delivery for the customer. The DPM shall be onsite and available during normal duty hours. The DPM will work closely with HR to recruit, hire, develop and retain talent and report to the Program Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with members of senior management team to set the overall strategy and objectives for the program

  • Responsible for overall project delivery (cost, schedule, quality, information, contracts)

  • Analyze key performance metrics

  • Attends assigned meetings to cover weekly job progress meetings; issues meeting minutes during design

  • Responsible for overall project delivery (cost, schedule, quality, information, contracts)

  • Manage project development from programming through completion in accordance with program objectives

  • Manages all budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures and controls for assigned projects

  • Prepares resource estimates and complies with overall budget limitations

  • Provide strategic guidance

  • Develop efficient strategies and tactics

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, construction management or related degree with minimum 5-years’ experience leading contracts of similar size and scope.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance..

  • Skills to include Excellent Communication, both oral and written.

  • Five years of demonstrated project or construction management experience with industrial facilities required.

  • Skills: Candidate must have ability to think critically and solve problems related to the construction and maintenance of utility facilities, industrial and safety systems. This includes electrical, mechanical, and civil systems facility design, planning, troubleshooting, and support in a highly dynamic environment.
