Amentum IT Support Technician in Southern Pines, North Carolina

A mid-level to senior IT Support Technician who will provide technical support for a medium-sized team within DoD. Candidate must have superb communication skills, as they will be directly interfacing with employees and the client and must be able to manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. Candidate must also have familiarization of Microsoft based networks and applications and should be familiar with current DoD policy and regulations governing information systems. This position may require occasional travel outside of the Southern Pines, NC area supporting mobile training team efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration of internal network and perform audio-visual and information technology support to a standalone training system on contract.

  • Maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing small-sized standalone USG owned systems and also company offsite computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, network, and AV equipment.

  • Optimize and customize SharePoint sites to provide structure, solve problems, facilitate collaboration, and enhance productivity.

  • Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades.

  • Familiar with maintenance systems used to secure DoD networks. This position requires candidate to become familiar with NIPR, SIPR and Internal networks.

  • Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines.

  • Interact with customers on a regular basis to provide guidance on procedures concerning account requests, e-mail, file access/storage, and other local procedures as required.

  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

  • Liaise with company management and customers for problem resolution within the enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Secret US Government Clearance to be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret US Government Clearance.

  • 3-5 years’ experience with Microsoft Windows based environments.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the following Microsoft operating systems and applications; Windows. Server 2008-2016, Windows 7/10 Enterprise, MS Office 2010-2016.

  • At least five years of previous experience working in IT related specialties.

  • Current MCSA (2016) or MCSE certification (2016) required.

  • COMP TIA A+, required. Comp TIA Network + desired.

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.

  • Familiar with basic diagnostics tools and key firmware analysis and management techniques.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.

  • Must be familiar with AV/VTC fundamentals, software and network connections. Experience setting up, and troubleshooting of USG AV equipment as well as Mobile Training Team (MTT) AV equipment (handheld cameras, displays, microphones, sound boards etc.)

  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as diverse experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity.

  • Must have top-notch customer service skills and the ability to focus on details.

Work Environment:

  • Work may include travel with the team to support MTT IT requirements who are participate in training exercises in austere conditions during non-standard work shifts.

  • Occasional outdoor work may include various environmental conditions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at desk. phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours a week. May include occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules as necessary.

  • May require climbing, working in small, confined spaces such as inside closets and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
