Amentum CNC Machine Repair Technician IV in Tallassee, Alabama
Amentum is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Repair Technician IV to join our new manufacturing maintenance team in Tallassee, AL. Typical work hours are AWS 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; hours may vary based on business demand.
The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing an advanced level expertise in troubleshooting, repair of and providing preventive maintenance on CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair CNC machinery, robotic systems, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, conveyors, machining centers, and robotic welders.
Identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on production related systems including, but not limited to: CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and coolant systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, alignments, etc.
Provide instruction and assistance to other technicians as needed.
Troubleshoot and repair heat exchange equipment.
Ability to utilize meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, etc.
Perform plumbing and hydraulic hose repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues associated with machinery.
Safely operate fork-lifts, hoists and cranes.
Utilize safe rigging and lifting techniques.
Perform preventive maintenance on CNC Machinery, mechanical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
Recommend activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag-out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Operate various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Maintain a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Five years of experience as a CNC repair technician in an industrial / manufacturing environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot CNC machine tools and associated subsystems such as; spindles, ball-screws, mechanical alignments, electrical, servo systems, and encoders.
Must be able to understand and troubleshoot using electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.

Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits on CNC machines and equipment in an industrial environment.
Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing hydraulic systems on CNC metal cutting and shaping equipment.
Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing pneumatic systems on CNC metal cutting and shaping equipment.
Experience troubleshooting low voltage controls.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs.
Experience with robotics maintenance and repairs.
Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing power transfer devices, pumps and gearboxes on assembly line and process equipment.
